Construction Engineering Inspection

The Construction Engineering Inspection Department is responsible for supervising the construction of projects bid and awarded under contract. These projects primarily consist of roadway, bridge, and drainage related projects. The supervision of construction projects include but are not limited to: monitoring the contractor’s construction activities, progress and compliance with contract requirements, monitoring consultant inspections services, reviewing and ensuring the completion of a project is in an economical and efficient manner, processing contractor and consultant payments and confirming proper project documentation is retained. The contract funds utilized for these type projects are from the Pay-As-You-Go program, CDBG Program, ALDOT (Federal and State), and County funds.
