Facilities Design and Construction

The Facilities Design and Construction is responsible for the design, bidding, contract development, and construction administration of facilities projects. Projects include new building construction, renovations, large maintenance and repair projects as well as park development projects.  At the direction of the Mobile County Commission, senior centers, community centers, and parks are also developed and executed for local municipalities.

Building Maintenance

Building Maintenance is the focal point for Mobile County facility preservation.  Building Maintenance facilitates the maintenance, expansion, remodeling, and repair of County-owned and leased facilities.

Building Maintenance employs a staff of highly skilled professional Supervisors, Trades, Crafts, Supply and Administrative personnel.  In addition to responding to daily service requests and performing planned maintenance, Building Maintenance personnel respond 24/7 to emergency situations involving matters of public safety or the destruction and degradation of the assigned facilities.

Custodial Services

Custodial Services makes up a key component of the Facilities team.  It is comprised of a team of highly dedicated staff responsible for ensuring a clean and healthy environment at key Mobile County facilities.

Electronics

Electronics provides installation, maintenance, and upgrades for systems such as fire alarms, visual and audio appliances, elevator systems, building automation and controls, security surveillance systems and security access control systems.  Electronics also maintains the radios for the Sheriff’s department, Public Works and Environmental Enforcement.
