Not an actual emergency! Alabama Army National Guard Training in Mobile April 29 through May 2

Posted on: Apr 26th, 2024 | AnnouncementsFeatured NewsPress Releases

Alabama Army National Guard will conduct training exercises in Mobile beginning Monday, April 29 through Thursday, May 2 from approx. 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day (night operations are not planned for this exercise).

The public should not be alarmed by an influx of uniformed Alabama Army National Guard personnel, vehicles and aircraft or by National Guard or local healthcare personnel in personal protective equipment. This is a training exercise, not an actual emergency.

The training exercises will take place at various locations in the Mobile area, including some local hospitals. The primary location for the four-day training will be The Grounds at the intersection of Cody and Zeigler Roads in Mobile.

Training exercises like this help the multiple emergency responding organizations better coordinate and implement response plans during actual incidents.

Multiple organizations throughout Mobile County are participating in these disaster preparation exercises, some of which include simulations.

Multiple members of Mobile County’s Healthcare Emergency Response Coalition are also participating in the exercises, for example, hospitals, public health, behavioral/mental health, EMS, and dialysis centers.

Mobile County Emergency Management Agency is providing support.
