... and Finally, Our Lifetime Achievement Award.

Throughout this morning, we've talked about the progress of Semmes, the accomplishments we've made, and the bright future that lies ahead. But the truth is, no city becomes successful because of one person. It takes people who believe in a community. People who are willing to invest their time, their energy, and sometimes years of their lives into making that community a better place.

And today, I want to recognize one of those individuals.

Someone who has been a tremendous part of the Semmes story for many years.

Someone who believed in this community long before we became a city.

From supporting the early growth and development of Semmes, to helping secure resources for our Senior Center, Community Center, library, recreational facilities, Fire Training Tower, and public safety improvements, this individual has continually demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our community.

But what makes this person truly special isn't just the projects they've helped make possible.

It's the relationships they've built, the people they've helped, and the countless hours they've dedicated to serving others.

And for me personally, this recognition means even more.

Because this individual isn't just someone I've had the privilege of working alongside in public office.

This person is a trusted colleague, a dear friend, and someone I consider a mentor.

You see, great leaders don't just accomplish things during their time in office.

They help build the next generation of leaders.

And that's exactly what this individual has done.

There are people who spend their careers seeking recognition.

And then there are people who spend their careers earning it without ever asking for it.

Today, we have the privilege of honoring someone who has spent decades doing exactly that.

Someone whose legacy is woven into the very foundation of the City of Semmes.

And someone whose service, friendship, and leadership have made a lasting impact on both

this community and on me personally.

After everything you've done for Semmes, I couldn't think of a more deserving person to recognize.

You have stood beside this community through its challenges, supported us through our growth, and helped us turn opportunities into accomplishments.

You've not only helped make Semmes a better city.

You've helped make me a better Mayor.

And for that, I will always be grateful.

This Award represents the lives you've touched, the opportunities you've created, the doors you've opened, and the lasting difference you've made.

Your dedication has helped shape the Semmes we know today, and your legacy will remain part of this community for generations to come.

Ladies and gentlemen, please join me in congratulating our Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, my friend and mentor, Commissioner Connie Hudson!
