Posted on: Apr 3rd, 2013 | Announcements

The Mobile County Commission today will unveil a new, interactive web page giving locals and visitors to Mobile County options to find activities and events in all parts of the county. ?To the question: ?What will we do today,? the new Mobile County web page has the answers,? said Mobile County Commission President Merceria Ludgood, who will be announcing the new feature at the State of the County address today at noon at the Mobile Convention Center. The page is a unique resource in that it covers all of the 1,600 square miles of our community, from the Heritage Homestead farm tours in Chunchula to the Azalea Festival in Semmes to the Blessing of the Fleet in Bayou La Batre. Rich in home-grown entertainment and natural resources, the county?s new web page allows visitors to the site the options to find the kinds of events and activities that interest them. Categories are Arts & Culture, Historic Sites, Sports, Water Activities, Outdoors, Events, Educational and Agri-Tourism. These activities also may be sorted by date or location within the county. ?We have lots of out-of-town visitors who go to our website to learn about the county and we want to give them to know that we have many opportunities for entertainment and education here,? said Mobile County Commissioner Connie Hudson. ?At the same time, our locals have a quick way to make choices as well.? The page can be accessed from the county?s website or at www.visitmobilecounty.com. Posters about the new page will feature a QR code that will take interested people directly to the website through smart phones and other scanning devises. ?Mobile County has so much to offer and it?s a great service to let people know how they can participate,? said Mobile County Commissioner Jerry Carl.
