MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. – Carol Plantation Road at the bridge over I-10 in west Mobile County will be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday, November 19 to improve the roadbed at both ends of the bridge.

All lanes of traffic in the vicinity of the bridge over I-10 on Carol Plantation Road will be closed while the work is occurring.

This closure is expected to last approximately four weeks; however, all construction projects are weather-dependent.

Detour signs will be in place before the closure. The detour is south on Carol Plantation Road, east on Theodore Dawes Road, north on Highway 90, west on Three Notch-Kroner Road, and southwest on Old Pascagoula Road. When the road is closed, its detour should appear on online traffic navigation services like Waze as well. Drivers are encouraged to use Highway 90 as an alternate route.

This temporary closure is in Mobile County Commission District 3.
