Special Meeting Set for Affordable Housing; Road Projects

The Mobile County Commission will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. Monday, March 7 in the auditorium of Government Plaza to consider a vote on several time-sensitive matters. The Commission will consider the following: ? Approval of a preliminary award of $1.1 million, in conjunction with the HOME program, to Arbours at McFarland in support of its application to the Alabama Housing Finance Authority for tax credits needed to build a 70-unit affordable housing complex at 2825 McFarland Road. ? Approval of right-of-way and/or easement agreement to buy a tract of land for $196.96 for the Cleborne Road project. ? Awarding of a $258,472 bid to John G. Walton Construction Co., Inc. for road construction on Oak Crest Drive. ? Awarding a $955,174 bid to H.O. Weaver and Sons, Inc., for intersection improvements at Dawes Road and Dawes Lane. ? Approval of a contract with Board of School Commissioners in the amount of $31,730.85 for playground equipment at Ella Grant Elementary School (EFP-132-16).
