MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. -- Mobile County Commissioners Merceria Ludgood, Connie Hudson, and Randall Dueitt participated in Mobile Chamber's 27th State of the City/County event on Jan. 9, 2025.

During the State of the County portion of the event, the Commissioners discussed with Chamber President Bradley Byrne how Mobile County is committed to providing access to nature, to jobs that build futures, to grants and resources, to history and culture, and, of course, to the infrastructure that supports it all.

Commissioners thanked voters for their re-election in November and for passing the 2024 Pay-As-You-Go Transportation Improvement Program. They discussed the importance of providing resources and supporting economic development efforts to improve quality of life. Commissioners gave updates on major projects, like the Mobile County Sportsplex (Aquatic Center & Soccer Complex) and Cypress Creek Golf Course at Riviere du Chien Park. Commissioners made some announcements as well. These parks should open/reopen in February 2025:

  • Isom Clemon Civil Rights Memorial Park
  • Chickasabogue Park
  • Bayfront Park
