Regional Senior Center Named for Commissioner Connie Hudson

Posted on: May 6th, 2013 | Announcements

The Mobile City Council unanimously agreed to change the name of the Mobile Regional Senior Community Center to The Connie Hudson Mobile Regional Senior Community Center. The name change, effective immediately, recognizes County Commissioner and former City Councilwoman Connie Hudson for her perseverance over many years to get the regional center built. Council members Bess Rich, Gina Gregory, Fred Richardson and Reggie Copeland all said that the name change was well-deserved because of the many obstacles overcome and the tremendous fund-raising efforts that went into the project, along with the foundation established by Hudson that continues to support the center. The photo attached shows, from left to right, Councilwoman Bess Rich, Dana Hudson (daughter), Dennis Hudson (husband), Connie Hudson and Marsha Herrin, president of the Mobile Regional Senior Community Center Foundation.
