More than 100 to Race Bikes at Chickasabogue Park

The third annual Chickasabogue State Park Mountain Bike Race is set for Sunday, April 11 with categories for Kids, Juniors and Adults. The race is the third race in the 2010 South Central Regional Championship Series. More than 100 competitors are expected to contend for trophies, prizes, and cash during the daylong event. The Kids race for children ages 12 and under will kick off at 8:30 in the morning, with the other races following. The courses range from 9 to 18 miles in length, all within the park?s 15-miles of trails. Registration for the races can be made online at www.BikeReg.com prior to April 9 or at the park on the weekend of the races. A USA Cycling License is required and one-day licenses are available at the park for $10. Interested persons also can register on Saturday, April 10 at the park, which will give them a chance to test ride the courses. They may also register on Sunday morning at least 30 minutes before each of the races. Registration fees are $5 for Kids, $25 for Juniors and $35 for Adults. Chickasabogue Park is located at 760 Aldock Road in north Mobile County. Cost to enter the park is $1.
