ORIGINAL POST FROM SEPT. 5, 2021:

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. -- Mobile County Recycling Center, located at 7450 Hitt Rd, Mobile, AL 36695, reduces its operating hours. The facility is open on Labor Day, Sept. 6.

The new recycling acceptance hours are Monday through Friday: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the facility is closed on Sundays.

Mobile County Recycling Center is managed by Goodwill Gulf Coast, Inc. The change in operating hours is because Mobile County Recycling Center’s usage has been exceeding capacity since mid-July (when other local recycling drop off locations were temporarily closed).

Please note:

  • Mobile County Recycling Center requires sortation.
  • The facility accepts residential household recyclables: paper, paperboard, cardboard, glass bottles and jars, aluminum cans, steel cans, plastic bags and these plastics: #1, #2 and #3-#7.
  • To avoid contamination, please rinse items that previously held foodstuff or liquid, uncap bottles/jars, and remove items from any bags before placing the bags in recycling bins.
