Mobile County Offers 95 Animals, Box of Chocolate

Posted on: Feb 11th, 2010 | Announcements

Open your heart to a new dog from the Mobile County Animal Shelter this weekend and you could go home with a box of chocolates in honor of Valentine?s Day. The first 10 people who take home an animal from the shelter will receive a box of chocolates during the weekly adoption event from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 13 at the new animal facility, 7665 Howells Ferry Road. The shelter is filled to capacity with 95 adoptable animals, mostly puppies, waiting for a caring home. Mobile County is required by the state of Alabama to be the animal control agency for the unincorporated parts of the county. That means the county is required to pick up all animals and accept all animals that are abandoned in its jurisdiction. Some of the dogs available for adoption this week include Redbone Coonhound puppies, Dachshund mix puppies, Border collie mix puppies, and Lab-Rottweiler puppies. There are also dozens of cats and kittens available for adoption. You may see the animals available at the shelter by visiting www.mobilecountyanimals.com or www.petharbor.com. ###
