Mobile County Announces Tax-Free Weekend In a few weeks, school bells will be ringing and area students will be headed back to the classroom. To assist with back-to-school expenses, the Mobile County Commission will once again have a sales tax holiday. Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2013, to midnight on Sunday, August 4, 2013, the purchase of back-to-school items like school supplies, computers and clothing are exempt from county sales and use taxes.
