Leroy Stevens Road Opens

Posted on: Oct 15th, 2013 | Announcements

It doesn?t happen often, but Leroy Stevens Road opens today on the exact date targeted for completion of construction. The barricades will be down by 5 p.m. Mobile County Public Works fast-tracked the repair of Leroy Stevens Road between Country and Nugget drives after it identified a failed storm drain under the roadway in mid-March. Engineers designed a 120-foot bridge to replace the two existing sets of giant storm drains. Normally, a project of this size would take a year or two. As a token of appreciation to the workers who made the project happen so quickly, Mobile County Commissioner Jerry Carl will thank them personally at a ribbon cutting set for 3:30 p.m. Monday. The road will be closed for the event for about 10 minutes and all the workers on the project will be attending. ###
