Posted on: Mar 19th, 2015 | Announcements

The public can adopt dogs for free at the Mobile County Animal Shelter, which is offering to the public14 dogs already spayed or neutered in an effort to relieve crowding at the facility. All the shelter?s dogs are available for viewing at www.mobilecountyanimals.com or the public may visit the shelter at 7665 Howells Ferry Road. While the county requires all adopted animals to be spayed and neutered before they are released, these animals are already altered and may be taken home immediately. Cost to adopt any of the other dogs is $80, which covers the spay/neuter fee, the 5-in-1 vaccination, wormer and the one-year rabies vaccination. As of Thursday morning, there were 102 animals at the shelter which has a maximum capacity of 90. There are a total of 25 dogs ready for adoption. Another 77 are in stray hold either for the seven-day period set aside for owners to reclaim them, or on legal hold for court cases. Attached are photos of some of the available dogs.
