PUBLIC NOTICE: Candidate Applications Accepted for Fire District Trustees' Elections in March 2023

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. – Judge of Probate Don Davis announces upcoming vacancies on the board of trustees of certain Mobile County Fire Districts.

The position of Fire District Trustee is open to anyone who owns property in the fire district and is interested in serving as a trustee.  Incumbents may apply for subsequent four-year terms.

Fire District Trustee terms expiring in March 2023 are:

  • Alabama Port Fire District, place 1 and place 2
  • Bayou La Batre Fire District, place 1 and place 2
  • Calcedeaver Community Fire District, place 5
  • Fowl River Fire District, place 1 and place 2
  • Georgetown Fire District, place 1, place 2, place 3, place 4, and place 5
  • Grand Bay Fire District, place 1 and place 2
  • Seven Hills Fire District, place 1 and place 2
  • Tanner Wiliams Fire District, place 1 and place 2
  • Theodore-Dawes Fire District, place 1 and place 2
  • Turnerville Fire District, place 5
  • Wilmer Fire District, Place 3 and Place 4

Completed Candidate Qualification Forms must be filed in the Probate Court Elections Division by 5 p.m. on March 1, 2023.  

If only one person submits an application, no election will be necessary and that person will be declared elected. If more than one person applies for a position, an election will be held on March 28, 2023. If necessary, a Runoff Election will be held April 18, 2023.
