Emergency Meeting Set For May 7, 2014

The Chairman of the Mobile County Commission has called an emergency meeting of the Commission for Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium at Mobile Government Plaza. The purpose of the meeting will be to consider adoption of a resolution declaring an emergency affecting the public health, safety or convenience resulting from a fire on May 3, 2014, and the lease of certain equipment which is necessary to meet the emergency, without public advertisement. An amended agenda for the meeting is set out below: AMENDED AGENDA EMERGENCY MEETING OF THE MOBILE COUNTY COMMISSION May 7, 2014 8:30 a.m. 1) Consider resolution declaring an emergency affecting public health, safety or convenience, as a consequence of a fire in the North Tower on May 3, 2014, which would result from a delay in the procurement of certain equipment necessary to cleanse the air and render the premises safe for those working in Mobile Government Plaza as well as those conducting business with the state, county and city. 2) Consider letting a contract for the lease of twenty-three (23) air purification units from Service Master for thirty (30) days) at a cost of $250.00 each, for a total of $5,750.00 per day, which are necessary to meet the emergency, without public advertisement. 3) Consider motion to adjourn until May 12, 2014.
