Cedar Point Pier Reopens After a Brief Temporary Closure

Posted on: Feb 6th, 2026 | AnnouncementsFeatured NewsPress Releases

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. -- Cedar Point Pier reopened Friday, Feb. 6, at 1 p.m.

Cedar Point Pier remains free for public enjoyment. It’s open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (except Christmas Day), and no saltwater fishing license is required for Alabama residents.

Recent upgrades include new accessibility and sustainability improvements designed to ensure families, residents, and visitors of all ages and abilities can enjoy the pier, including the installation of a large shade canopy, as well as some lighting, fencing, signage, sodding, and parking lot work. These improvements support the long-term preservation of the pier as a community gathering place and help ensure it remains available for future generations to enjoy.
