County Animal Shelter Sets Iron Bowl Rivalry

Posted on: Nov 17th, 2009 | Announcements

The Mobile County Animal Shelter, 7665 Howells Ferry Road, will hold an Iron Bowl Adoption Event from this Wednesday to Wednesday of next week, keeping a tally of which fans adopt the most animals in anticipation of the real matchup over Thanksgiving weekend. The shelter?s workers will be wearing their colors and keeping a count of adopting families on a board at its reception desk. The goal is to bring in fans that can provide good homes for abandoned animals. The shelter is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for extended hours on Tuesdays until 6:30 p.m. for adoptions only. The shelter also is open for adoptions on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The county shelter on Saturday held an adoption event at the Mobile Regional Senior Community Center on Hillcrest Road, which was celebrating its one-year anniversary. The event was good for business - 15 animals found their way to new homes. For questions about animal adoptions, please call the County Animal Shelter at 574-3230. Adoptable pets also may be viewed online at www.mobilecountyanimals.com.
