Commissioner Ludgood Earns Award from Auburn

Mobile County Commissioner Merceria Ludgood has received a prestigious award from Auburn University for graduating from the Alabama Local Government Training Institute with 120 hours of detailed course work on county leadership and administration. She joins a select group of 74 current Alabama county commissioners with this distinction, including outgoing Mobile County Commissioner Mike Dean. ?Commissioner Ludgood?s achievement underscores a strong commitment and dedication to public service in county government,? said Dr. Don-Terry Veal, director of the Center for Governmental Studies at Auburn and administrator of the program. The award was presented to Commissioner Ludgood at a special ceremony during the 2012 annual convention of the Association of County Commission of Alabama (ACCA).
