Posted on: Mar 13th, 2009 | Announcements

March 13, 2009 -- The Mobile County Commission, along with the Chickasaw Development Corporation (CDC), will hold an ?Open House? for potential homebuyers at noon on Saturday, March 14, on Jackson Street in Chickasaw. Houses located at 339, 341 and 343 Jackson Street, situated directly behind the Post Office, will be open for the public to view. Future homebuyers are welcome to tour the new homes, which were federally-funded through HUD, administered by the Mobile County Grants Department, and built by the CDC. Those interested in the homes may be eligible for assistance through the Mobile County Home Investment Partnership (HOME) Program. The HOME Program can help families in two ways: 1. Down Payment Assistance Program Provides up to $10,000 for down payment and closing cost, that is forgiven after five years of continued residency. 2. Provides loan funds up to $30,000 at an interest rate up to 3% on a 30-year second mortgage for new construction for single family homes. ?We?re doing our part to help stimulate the economy,? said County Commissioner Merceria Ludgood. ?There are many hardworking families in our community that can achieve home ownership through the HOME Program.? ###
