Clarification on Reading Voter ID Cards

Posted on: May 13th, 2014 | Announcements

Some confusion has occurred over the interpretation of the municipality code on voter registration cards mailed to registered voters in Mobile County. Located on the top right side of the card, the municipality code designates the city where the voter lives, and not the voters? city council district. Each of the 11 cities in Mobile County has a different number code from ?01? to ?11.? Those county residents living outside municipalities are coded as ?COUNTY-00?. The voter registration cards recently mailed out to Mobile County registered voters also identify the polling place as well as the district in which each voter lives. There have been some polling place changes in Mobile County and voters should check their precinct location and district assignments on the cards. If you are a registered voter and did not receive a card or have any questions, please call the Mobile County Board of Registrars at 251-574-8586. . PLEASE SEE SAMPLE BELOW.
