Bridge Replacement to Close a Portion of Old Pascagoula Road

Posted on: Nov 14th, 2014 | Announcements

Traffic on Old Pascagoula Road, between Ramsey Road and March Road, will be interrupted for approximately a year, as work begins on Monday, November 17, to replace the Jackson Creek Bridge. Message boards are currently on display in the area to inform the travelling public of the impending road closure. Motorists are asked to be cautious and to take alternate routes. Detour routes will be posted. (SEE ATTACHMENT) The project will replace the existing old bridge with one that is longer, wider and higher. The contractor for this project is Gulf Equipment Company for a low bid of $1,375,076.45. The contract holder for this project is ALDOT. ### ATTACHMENT NOTE: Attached is the detour plan. The distance between those two intersections (A to B on the Map) is 1.5 miles. The detour around the road closure on Old Pascagoula Road starts at either one of the major intersections depending on what direction you are travelling. The detour distance around the project site from Old Pascagoula Rd/Ramsey Rd intersection (A) to Old Pascagoula Rd/March Rd (B) intersection is 8.5 miles.
