Announcement for Voters Who Have Recently Moved by Judge of Probate Don Davis, Mobile County's Chief Election Official

Posted on: Jan 10th, 2024 | AnnouncementsPress ReleasesFeatured News

All Alabama voters are reminded that pursuant to Alabama law, they are to vote at the poll that serves the election precinct in which the voter currently resides.  Additionally, it is the voter’s responsibility to update their voter registration and keep said registration current.

2024 is an election year in Alabama.  The Alabama Presidential Preference and Alabama Statewide Primary Election is scheduled on March 5, 2024.   If a voter has moved since participating in the last non-municipal election, the voter should update their voter registration on or before February 19, 2024, to ensure that the voter is assigned to the proper poll for voting purposes.

The updating process can be done in writing or electronically via the Internet.  A voter registration form can be completed and submitted to the Mobile County Board of Registrars.  These forms are available through the Mobile County Probate Court’s website [www.probate.mobilecountyal.gov/elections] or by contacting the Mobile County Board of Registrars by telephone at 251.574.8586.   Alternatively, a voter can go to the office of the Mobile County Board of Registrars [First Floor, Mobile County Government Center Annex, 151 Government Street, Mobile, AL] and complete and submit an update form to the Board of Registrars.  A voter can also register or update their voter registration electronically through the Alabama Secretary of State’s Office’s website [www.alabamavotes.gov].

If a voter updates the voter’s registration, the voter will receive written confirmation from the Mobile County Board of Registrars of the voter’s new poll assignment.
