The week of the Veterans Day holiday, Mobile County Commission is participating in Operation Green Light and will light the atrium of Government Plaza green to shine a light of appreciation, hope and support for our nation’s veterans from Nov. 7 through Nov. 13 and urges residents in all parts of Mobile County to participate by
At the stroke of 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, the atrium will be lit green through Sunday, Nov. 13. Some downtown businesses and other downtown Mobile locations - the Mobile Convention Center and GulfQuest - will be lit green that week as well. The "Mighty A" (USS Alabama) will be lit for some of the week and the Mobile RSA buildings will be lit green on Nov. 8, the balance of the week, they’ll be red, white and blue.
The Mobile County Commission recently approved a resolution supporting Operation Green Light and expressing the importance of showing appreciation and support for veterans:
