“SPEED” LECTURE & BOOK SIGNING

Head on over fast to the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park for a lecture and book signing by Keith Dunnavant, author of the new book Speed, an authorized biography of legendary test pilot Bob Gilliland. Gilliland was the first man to fly the SR-17 Blackbird and one of the first pilots to fly the A-12 Blackbird on display in the park's Aircraft Pavilion. Learn about Gilliland's life and exploits Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dunnavant, an Alabama native, has written nationally acclaimed biographies of Paul “Bear” Bryant, Bart Starr, Joe Montana and Francis Gary Powers.
