The Virginia Dillard Smith/Toulminville Branch Library is celebrating its 20-year anniversary and making a return after a two-year hiatus is the Poetry Slam-O-Rama, Saturday April 30, 2022, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Meeting Room. Youth ages 8-19 are invited to register for this annual poetry competition. Each contestant is asked to create their own poem and contestants may present up to two poems. There will be first, second, and third place prizes funded by the Friends of the Mobile Public Library awarded in three age categories: 8-11, 12- 14, and 15-19. All contestants will receive a certificate of participation and a consolation prize. Space is limited, and registration is required to participate.
