OPEN MIC POETRY SLAM AND ART SHOWING

Mobile's Poet Laureate Huggy Bear Da Poet will host an Open Mic Poetry Slam and Art Showing on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Africatown Heritage House. Admission to this event is FREE. Through his socially aware poetry, Huggy Bear Da Poet has captivated and evoked social change in each venue where he has performed. Nationally known and considered one of the top spoken word artists in the country, he's credited with pioneering the modern spoken word movement along the Gulf Coast.
