MOBILE OPERA PRESENTS 'DIE FLEDERMAUS' (2 performances)

Mobile Opera opens its 80th season with Johann Strauss II's "Die Fledermaus" on Friday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 2:30 p.m., at The Temple Downtown. The beloved characters of this opera are so comical because they're so plainly human. Over their dignified absurdity and all their fumbling foibles, Strauss's glorious melodies sing the audience away from their own troubles.
