BEHIND-THE-SCENES COLLECTION TOUR: DECADES: 1900-1910 (2 tour times)

Curators will offer two behind-the-scenes tours on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and from 5:30 tp 6:30 p.m. at the History Museum of Mobile. See inside the vault and learn how curators care for more than 117,000 objects. The theme for this month's tour is DECADES: 1900-1910. Begin a trip through the 20th Century by focusing on the first decade. Visitors will see textiles, documents, technology and more that helped shape this transformative time in Mobile history. During this informative and fascinating tour, curators will discuss the particular environmental, handling and housing factors needed to prevent damage and ensure the preservation of the objects they collect, safeguard and interpret for present and future generations of citizens. These special one-hour tours are FREE for members, $20 for ages 18 and up and $15 for ages 8 to 17. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
