Apr 16th, 2026 6:00 PM-7:30 PM
Join award-winning director Terrence Spivey (“An Ocean in My Bones”) as he explores the art and history behind the stage in an Art Talk on Thursday, April 16, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mobile Museum of Art. Discover how painter Romare Bearden influenced August Wilson and how the tradition of “church hats” birthed Regina Taylor’s gospel musical “Crowns.” The Art Talk is inspired by the exhibition "Aminah Robinson: Journeys Home, a Visual Memoir" and is FREE with admission to the museum. This program is sponsored in part by District 1 Mobile County Commissioner Merceria Ludgood. For more information, go to www.mobilemuseumofart.com/event/art-talk-terrence-spivey.
