HERITAGE LECTURE SERIES: THE SHERO THAT HELPED SPAWN MOBILE'S BLACK HISTORY ADVOCACY

Sheila Flanagan will be the featured speaker at the FREE Heritage Lecture Series event on Thursday, May 21, at 5:30 p.m. at Africatown Heritage House. After more than 30 years working in African American History in Mobile, Flanagan is ready to talk about her experience in seeing Black history preserved, promoted and honored. She is the retired assistant director of the History Museum of Mobile. Currently, she is the manager/curator of the Historic Avenue Cultural Center and serves as the vice president of the board of directors of the Friends of the Mobile African American Heritage Trail, the sponsoring nonprofit of the Dora Franklin Finley African American Heritage Trail and the Historic Franklin House and Gallery.
