The Historic Avenue Cultural Center is hosting its annual Block Party as a Community Healing Festival in celebration of HACC’s two-year anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Historic Avenue Cultural Center. This FREE, family-friendly event will include food, activities and pop-up programs to emphasize art, equity and healing. This festival is made possible through partnership with ACAC (Alabama Contemporary Arts Center) and Society of Clotilda. Mobile County is also a sponsor of the event. On the interior, there will be speakers and community leaders. Outside, experience a variety of activities, including a yoga session, sound baths, invocation and a gardening and sustainability talk. Artist LeXander Bryant will be doing Cyanotype portraits working toward a larger community art project. Enjoy Southern comfort food, roam the health and healing market offering local crafts, wellness services and more, and move to live sounds provided by The Feels Foreal Co. Open to all ages, this event honors Mobile’s rich cultural heritage and invites everyone to connect, learn, heal and grow together.
