THE BREAKFAST CLUB: WOMEN OF ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM

The topic of this month's "coffee chat" series, which reflects on the profound impact of women in creativity, is "The Living Record – Identity, the Male Gaze and Rewriting History," on Saturday, March 13, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Mobile Museum of Art. In each session, art historian and lecturer LaVada Raouf tells the stories of women who shaped the course of art history. From the status-marking portraits of early America to the radical energy of the Ninth St. Women, these sessions dive deep into the artists and cultural icons who defied the status quo. Enjoy light refreshments (think bagels, donuts and coffee) and engaging conversation. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. RSVP is highly encouraged.
