Enjoy a memorable one-hour excursion to the legendary SS United States, while it is temporarily docked in Mobile's harbor, on Friday, Aug. 22, at 3 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Esteemed historian John Sledge, who works with the National Maritime Museum, will introduce guests to this iconic landmark of the nation's marine heritage, sharing stories about its designers, builders, passengers and devoted enthusiasts. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get a close waterside view of the venerable SS United States, the fastest ocean liner to ever cross the Atlantic and the largest passenger ship ever built entirely in this country.
