Learning Lunch: Mutinous Women: How French Convicts Became Founding Mothers of the Gulf Coast

The History Museum of Mobile’s upcoming Learning Lunch Program will take place on December 14 at 12 p.m. and will feature Dr. Joan DeJean and Dr. Gregory Waselkov. Dr. DeJean will do a presentation on the topic of her book, Mutinous Women: How French Convicts Became Founding Mothers of the Gulf Coast. She will also engage in a discussion about some of the early Frenchwomen in Mobile with Dr. Waselkov. The program will be presented live online as a ZOOM meeting and will also be presented on a big screen in the museum auditorium. The History Museum of Mobile invites the public to attend the free Learning Lunch lecture series. Guests are encouraged to bring their lunch and enjoy a presentation on a historical or cultural topic.
