Mary Jones-Fitts, president of the Mobile African American Genealogical & Historical Society, will offer a genealogy workshop on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Ben May Main Library. The workshop focuses on the internal slave trade, in which approximately 1 million African Americans were relocated throughout the United States before the abolition of slavery in 1865. Registration is required for this FREE event. Participants may also attend virtually.
