THE ORIGINAL MISS SEAFOOD PAGEANT

The Original Miss Seafood Pageant will be held on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 4 p.m. at the Bayou La Batre Community Center. In this pageant, awards are given for main titles, interview winners, evening wear winners, division cover girl and runner-ups. There are also optional photogenic, people's choice and other titles to be awarded, in age divisions from babies to 12th grade. The entry fee for the pageant is $120. The deadline to enter the pageant is Aug. 7. People's Choice tickets are available for purchase for $1 each, and this money funds community outreach projects that the queens perform during their reign.
