TEEN PAINTING

Join The Mobile Museum of Art for a Teen Painting Course on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from 4 until 6 p.m. This class introduces students to watercolor painting, acrylic painting, and oil painting basics. Dive into color theory, portraiture, landscape art, and still life with a variety of painting materials. Students will explore grisaille painting, glazing, and resist techniques as well as different approaches to painting, such as Alla Prima and en Plein Air. Students will learn how to build a canvas frame and stretch and prime their own canvases for their artwork. Students should bring a photo reference for something they would like to paint. In this course, students will learn to paint from life, from a reference, and explore conceptual versus perceptual art. The cost is $100 for members and $115 for non-members.
