REVOLUTIONARY WAR RE-ENACTMENT + TIME CAPSULE OPENING

Jul 5th, 2026 4:00 PM-7:00 PM

Discover Mobile's unique role in the American Revolution and get a rare glimpse into what life, and celebration, looked like in 1976, on Sunday, July 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Colonial Fort Condé. This FREE celebration of American history will feature a Revolutionary War reenactment and the opening of a 50-year-old time capsule. At 4 p.m., experience The Capture of Captain James Willing, Colonial Fort Condé's annual Independence Day living history program. Then at 5 p.m., witness history as the 1976 Colonial Fort Condé Time Capsule is opened for the first time in 50 years. Buried during America's Bicentennial celebrations, the capsule will be opened in honor of America's 250th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the reconstructed Colonial Fort Condé. Guests will be able to view the contents until 7 p.m. For details, go to www.facebook.com/events/1656376055423918.
