Celebrate the New Year a little early with a family-friendly countdown to noon, complete with a ball-pit explosion to kick off the New Year on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Exploreum Science Center. Throughout the day, enjoy weather-inspired science demos, hands-on STEM activities and plenty of chances to learn how wild and wonderful meteorology can be. Festive costumes are encouraged. The event is FREE for Exploreum members and $12 (special event pricing) for non-members. There will also be a special feature, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the PCI Dome Theater. Advance tickets are required, as seating is limited.
