MOONMENT

Moonment is a site-specific work on display through April 23, 2022, at the Alabama Contemporary Art Center. Moonment, inspired by a profound Chinese poem describing when the moon rises above sea level, everyone, no matter where they are, connects each other by sharing the moonlight of that moment. Sizhu Li, a Chinese-born multi-disciplinary artist based in New York, created a “heart” with beating sounds instead of a moon. And hopes everyone sees that the heart connects to others and the ones you care about. COVID-19 PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES: To protect staff and patrons alike, Alabama Contemporary requires a mask and social distancing in the galleries. We’ve also amended our hours, are waiving admission, and placing limits on capacity.
