The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians are descendants of those who resisted relocation during the Trail of Tears, preserving their heritage as a sovereign nation of over 11,000 Tribal members, including artist Jeffrey Gibson. This presentation will explore the deep cultural influences woven into his contemporary work, highlighting its connections to Choctaw traditions. Celebrate the richness of Choctaw culture and gain insight into the artistic inspiration behind Round Dancing! Admission is free.
