Illuminating the Universe, an immersive opening gala for Galileo: The Science of Antiquity, will take place on Friday, Jan. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Exploreum Science Center. The event is a celebration of innovation, wonder and the enduring legacy of one of history’s greatest scientific minds. Guests will enjoy an elevated night of art, science and entertainment, featuring curated culinary experiences by Roma Café; wine selections sponsored by United-Johnston Brothers of Alabama; specialty lighting and A/V by Southern Sounds Event; live performance sets by aerialist Sanya Ismail; elegant atmosphere enhancements and table options with Gulf Coast Events and Rentals; and musical entertainment by Rooftop Quartet. Guests will be the first to explore the new exhibition, which highlights Galileo’s revolutionary work in astronomy, physics, mathematics and the birth of experimental science through hands-on, STEAM-based interactives.Tickets to the gala are $125 per person; $200 per couple; and $1,000 for a table of six.
