'COME FROM AWAY'

The Tony and Olivier award-winning musical "Come From Away" will be staged from Sept. 10-20, at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday and at 2:30 p.m. on Sundays at Chickasaw Civic Theatre. Moments after the terrifying September 11, 2001, attacks, U.S. air space was closed, but flights headed here didn’t have enough fuel to return home safely. Some 7,000 passengers and crew members were stranded in Gander, Newfoundland — a tiny town that opened its arms to the folks who had no other place to go. "Come From Away" tells the remarkable true stories of some of those passengers and townspeople. Directed by Mike Box, this production marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11. Tickets are $15 to $20.
