CLOTILDA: THE EXHIBITION AT AFRICATOWN HERITAGE HOUSE

Clotilda: The Exhibition at Africatown Heritage House is now open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Visitors should reserve their timed ticket online to ensure they can experience this powerful exhibit on their preferred day and time.

Free admission for Mobile County residents and History of Mobile Museum members (proof of residence or membership required at entry) - just click the appropriate category when reserving your timed ticket. Children 5 and under are free. Adults are $15. Discounted admission applies for seniors, students, military, and children. Tickets are available at www.clotilda.com/visit-us/

Clotilda: The Exhibition at Africatown Heritage House is a collaborative effort. Mobile County Commission built Africatown Heritage House with some financial assistance by the City of Mobile and others and the exhibit was curated and is operated by the History Museum of Mobile.

Clotilda: The Exhibition at Africatown Heritage House focuses on the the people at the heart of the story of Africatown – their individuality, their perseverance, and the extraordinary community they established. Some pieces of the last known slave ship to illegally bring Africans into enslavement in the U.S., on loan from the Alabama Historical Commission, are incorporated into the exhibit as are historical West African artwork.
