The 92nd Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo (ADSFR), a project of the Mobile Jaycees, takes place from Friday, July 18, to Sunday, July 20, on Dauphin Island (N30 15’31, 90″ W88 06’47.78). Founded in 1929, ADSFR is the largest fishing tournament in the world, attracting more than 4,000 anglers and 100,000 spectators. The three-day event features 33 categories with prizes awarded for first, second and third place in all categories plus Most Unusual Species and Lionfish. One Master Angler is also awarded, along with cash prizes for King Mackerel, Speckled Trout and Big Game jackpots. The total awards package is valued up to $1 million in cash and prizes and anchored by boat, motor and trailer packages.
Spectators are admitted FREE. Live music performances include The Molly Ringwalds on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.; Hamilton Gardner on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m.; and The Big Reveal on Sunday starting at 3 p.m.
