Discount Prescription Drug Card

The Mobile County Commission offers a prescription discount card to all county residents - regardless of income, age or health status - that provides substantial discounts on prescriptions, and lab and imaging tests.

The prescription discount card may be used at all pharmacy chains and most independent pharmacies in Mobile County. It covers more than 60,000 available prescription drugs. There is no cost for the card and no deductible applied to purchases.

The card is available at participating pharmacies or it may be downloaded from the website Participating pharmacies are listed at the website by clicking on the Pharmacy Locator button at the top of the page.

Cardholders saved an average of 53 percent on prescription drugs in the first eight months of the program's operation, and over time, the program has proven to save users at least 40 percent on prescription purchases, according to FMC.

Everyone is qualified for the discount card membership and parents or guardians may obtain the discounts on prescriptions for their dependents under the age of 18 years. The cards cover a wide range of medications, including pet prescriptions, and some imaging and lab tests.

The cards are especially useful to uninsured residents and residents facing high insurance deductibles. They also offer savings for people in need of prescriptions that are not covered by their current plans.

The program is a partnership with Financial Marketing Concepts Inc., (FMC) out of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and is offered at no cost to the county.
