SAMURAI: SUNRISE, SUNSET

The History Museum of Mobile offers the exhibition SAMURAI: Sunrise, Sunset  until Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025. This exhibition draws from the rich and varied Japanese collection of the Stibbert Museum located in Florence, Italy. It features some 100 objects related to the legendary samurai warriors including full suits of armor, helmets, swords, sword guards, and saddles, as well as objects intended for personal use such as lacquered boxes, incense trays, and delicate vases. These objects characterize the period from 1185 to 1868 in which Japan was ruled by the samurai military class that embodied the ideals of the code of Bushido ("the way of the warrior").

Admission rates are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors 65+, active and retired military with ID and students with ID, $10.50 for children 13 to 18, $8 for children 6 to 12, and free for children under 5.
