Enjoy an Art Talk with Glenna Barrow, on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Mobile Museum of Art. She will tell the fascinating story of Thomas Day, a free Black craftsman in the Antebellum South. Day became the most prominent furniture maker in North Carolina in the years leading up to the Civil War. During this talk, you will learn about Day’s life, craft, and legacy, and examine an extraordinary bureau with his other contributions to Southern cabinetry and architecture.
